Spain
Mascato S.A.’s main headquarters are located in Vigo, Spain, from where all global operations are coordinated. In addition, we operate the following in Spain:
Mascato Salvaterra, S.L. Processing and packaging plant for frozen products. Fishing operation in Gran Sol, for fresh fish sales.
Mascato Salvaterra is certified in the EMAS III environmental management system. In the following link you can consult your environmental statement: view certificate.
South Africa
Mascato participates in South Africa in the exporting company of fresh hake Plettenberg Bay.
Namibia
Mascato invests in Namibia via the Merlus Group. The latter has its own fleet, which mainly catch hake and monkfish.
Processing plants:
– Merlus Seafood Processors: Processing/packaging frozen product.
– Abroma Fishing: Processing/packaging fresh product.
Gran Sol
Mascato has its own fleet of vessels fishing in Gran Sol where it is mainly caught hake, monkfish and megrim.
Operation of fishing in Gran Sol for sale in fresh and frozen.
Chile
The Company’s presence in Chile is by means of Blue Shell. Blue Shells’ state of the art mussel processing plant is on Chiloe Island.
Raw materials are supplied via the subsidiary Cultivos Azules. Working with artisan fishermen, the Company also operates a packaging plant in Puerto Montt for the exporting of fresh hake.
